Chalk Paint® Lacquer is a hard-wearing, water-based polyacrylic varnish with built-in UV protection. Use it over Chalk Paint® for a robust finish that will withstand general wear and tear – perfect for dining room tables, outdoor furniture, floors and skirting boards. It goes on perfectly clear and dries quickly without yellowing over time. See our Fact Sheet for more information.

Available in two finishes: Matt and Gloss. Comes in tins of 750ml. Matt Lacquer provides a matt finish and will slightly darken the colour of the Chalk Paint®, as with Chalk Paint® Wax. Gloss gives a light sheen but is not ultra glossy.

Chalk Paint and Lacquer

The paint was super easy to apply and even though we went from a white bench to a light grey bench it still looks amazing. Lacquer application was also easy and I guess it is important to brush it in and not leave any wet spots.
Looking forward to more DIY projects and using the Annie Sloan paints.
Meeda was also very helpful and we appreciate all her assistance.

Lacquer Gloss

So we re-did the whole thing and it turned out amazing! the shiny look on top of the paint looks gorgeous, in fact it brings out the color even more. Since then we've done so many more mini projects. I'm on a spree to up-styling all my boring brown furniture! :)

Lacquer did not give that finish!

We went the lacquer way rather than wax! Everything was looking good till the second day after finishing lacquer. We did a red chalk paint and finished up with Matt lacquer. Today morning day 3 it has a milky / cloudy appearance making it look Pink! We did as instructed - stirred for 5 mins, did very thin layers. Let it completely dry. And now we have a finished product that looks not as it was planned to be.
I am discussing with Meeda and awaiting some help to fix it. Once they guide us I will come back here to update
