Tattoos (well, transfers) for Furniture!

Can you believe it’s already April?! It’s been a whirlwind here at Big Blue Trunk as we transitioned to being fully online. We are up and running and are ready to help you with your DIY interior projects!

One of our favorite interior trends lately is botanicals! Having greenery in your home provides natural beauty and gives you space to rest your eyes. Plants create an inviting and cozy environment, and can improve your mental well-being.

But what if you don’t have a green thumb or if you don’t have time or energy to maintain a big indoor garden? We’re putting a little spin on the botanical theme with our transfers.

Our customer recently refreshed a bar cabinet with our favorite Fronds decor transfers for Iron Orchid Designs on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Aubusson Blue. We think it turned out fantastic! The bar cabinet looks so fresh and modern now, you’d hardly think that it was an older piece of furniture. This bar cabinet was one of the first few pieces purchased by our customer when she
first set up home after her wedding. The grey and wood finish was dull but she didn’t want to do away with the cabinet - so she gave it a beautiful new look with our products as part of a home styling project we did for her!

This is what it looked like before:

You have to agree that it’s an amazing transformation, right?

Apart from the Fronds transfer, we also have the Japonica Transfers, which would look just as stunning!

Just to inspire you, this is what it would look like:

What do you think? We hope you find these beautiful transfers inspiring! It’s quick and easy to refresh your furniture - they would work on all kinds of cabinets, chairs and stools, and even trunks! Just start with a base of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in your favourite colour, then rub on those transfers and finish off, as always, with Annie Sloan Clear wax.
