This is a very intricate stencil. Yesterday, I carefully worked warm gold gilding wax with a small flat brush onto a waxed surface. Besides masking tape to hold the stencil in place, I had to use a chopstick to hold down tiny parts with the other hand so as not to get the gilding wax into the tiny spaces between the stencil and the surface. It is worth the careful painstaking effort because the result is beautiful: warm gold details against an antiqued country grey surface.
